You’ll vote for Mayor, City Councillor and, if eligible, School Board Trustee.

What to bring:

Bring one piece of ID with your name and Toronto address. Photo ID is not required.

Accepted ID includes:

  • Ontario driver’s licence or Ontario photo card

  • Utility bill (hydro, water, gas, phone, cable)

  • Bank or credit card statement

  • Lease, rental agreement or mortgage statement

  • Property tax or income tax assessment

  • Any document from the Government of Canada, Ontario or the City

Please note:

  • Your voter information card cannot be used as ID.

  • A passport cannot be used as ID because it doesn’t show your address.

  • You can show a bill or statement on your phone if it was sent to you electronically. A photo of a paper document or of your licence is not accepted.

Who can vote:

You can vote if you are:

  • a Canadian citizen,

  • 18 or older, and

  • living in Toronto, or you or your spouse own or rent property in Toronto.

You can only vote once, and you vote in the ward where you live.

Not on the voters’ list?

No problem. Bring your ID and you can be added at the voting place. You can also check, add or update your information online at MyVote (myvote.toronto.ca) until 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 11.

Accessible voting

  • Both advance voting locations have a Voter Assist Terminal. It’s a touch screen with audio, braille and large-print options so you can mark your ballot privately.

  • Curbside voting: if you can’t go inside, a friend can let staff know, and your ballot will be brought out to you.

  • You can bring a friend to help you, or ask an election official.

  • Language help: voting place staff wear tags showing the languages they speak, and you can bring someone to interpret for you.

Voting by mail?

If you have a mail-in package, return it to the Ward 23 drop box at Burrows Hall Community Centre by 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, October 14.
