I'm a Scarborough kid. Born and raised.
Growing up, my family didnāt have a lot of money, but I never lacked for opportunities ā because my family and I had access to affordable housing, reliable transit and a safe neighbourhood.
These opportunities, including three summers cleaning trains for the TTC to pay for my education, allowed me to earn degrees at the University of Western Ontario, the London School of Economics, and New York University School of Law.
Prior to being elected, I was a senior lawyer at TD Bank and served on the boards of the Scarborough Business Association, TAIBU Community Health Centre, and the Community Police Liaison Committee for 42 Division.
These experiences didn't just shape who I am. They shaped why I ran and who I was running for: hardworking Torontonians who play by the rules and who deserve a city that works for them.
From Scarborough to City Hall
In 2022, you gave me the honour of a lifetime and elected me as your City Councillor. In 2023, I was appointed Chair of the TTC. By working together, we:
Froze TTC fares three years in a row
Started a sixplex housing pilot in Scarborough North that helped Toronto secure $471M in federal funding to build 11,780 affordable rental homes
Championed and secured funding for the Scarborough Busway to save commuters up to 15 minutes (opening September 2026)
Secured funding to expand Steeles Avenue between Tapscott and Ninth Line (construction starting in 2027)
Opened youth hubs at Malvern and Woodside Square libraries and secured $200,000 annually to open a youth hub at Agincourt Recreation Center (opening September 2026)
Implemented road safety improvements throughout the ward, including Brimwood Boulevard, Malvern Street, and White Heather Boulevard
Ensured the new 378-bed long-term care home at Finch and Brimley will include a community benefits agreement to provide jobs for residents and procurement opportunities for local businesses.
Iām running again to continue delivering an affordable, safe and connected Scarborough North.
On October 26th, vote for Leadership that Delivers and re-elect Jamaal Myers as City Councillor for Ward 23, Scarborough North.
